Biography
Called to the NB Bar in 2005, Jennifer will celebrate 20 years in private practice in June 2025. Born and raised in Miramichi, NB, Jennifer moved to Fredericton in 2001 for law school. She has remained in Fredericton ever since and it is where she first started practicing law. Becoming a partner in a law firm at just 2 years out and 27 years old, Jennifer quickly grew her practice focused mainly on separation and divorce. Working with only male lawyers until the birth of her first child in 2017, Jennifer decided to leave the partnership and start her own law firm, J. Donovan Law Group, on January 2, 2019, in Fredericton. At that time, she had 3 full-time and one part-time staff. During the last five years, Jennifer has expanded her firm to include a Miramichi location in July 2021 and a St. Andrews location in July 2023. Now supported by a team of 25 professionals including 5 lawyers, Jennifer’s firm offers bilingual services in all practice areas, including family law, criminal defense, real estate wills and estates and immigration. Outside of law, Jennifer is quickly expanding her wedding officiant and event planning services throughout NB and growing her tourism accommodations in St. Andrews. She is a doting mother to three sons: 6, 3, and 2 years old.
